"When you play with fire, you're bound to get burned."

Face Claim - Min Yoongi

The Pyromaniac

Pyromania is a rare, pathological disorder characterized by intentional and repeated fire setting. People with pyromania are deeply fascinated by fire and related paraphernalia. They cannot stop their impulse to set fires, may participate in other fire-related activities, and experience feelings of satisfaction or a release of built-up inner tension or anxiety once a fire is set. Symptoms include an attraction to fire, purposely setting more than one fire, feeling excited or tense just before setting a fire, and feeling relief or pleasure in the aftermath of a fire.

Lao likes fire, that's all there is to it.

LAO'S APPEARANCE

Lao is a very handsome guy. He stands at 5'9. He has beige skin that's on the tan side of his usual skin tone range. Naturally his hair is jet black, but it is currently dyed platinum blonde. Which is in -- for lack of a better word -- a bowl cut. But a stylish one at that. Which is also occasionally let too go free in all it's messiness. He's a skinny guy who works out. So he's in between being skinny and medium build. With nice muscles, a nice v-line, and a decent set of abs. Scars scattered all over his body

He has small almond shaped eyes. Brown, the color of hot chocolate or those fudgescicles he enjoyed so much. Medium length eyelashes. Thin yet medium sized lips. A small thin nose, which he finds annoying but others find adorable. Cheekbones and a jawline that could cut something in half. He has a few lucky items. A red and black bandana, a pair of tiny silver earings, black face mask with a bear design on it, variety of random bracelets, and a plain black baseball cap. His clothing style varies from day too day. From casual to fancy, all depending on his mood.

Clothes

He takes what it is that he wants too. Sometimes he buys it, sometimes he doesn't. But he'll get them all from literally wherever he wants too. On casual days it's usually some sort of t-shirt, jeans (usually ripped), sneakers or timberlands, some sort of jacket and the occasional hat. On fancy days it's usually button ups, jeans, whatever those fancy shoes are called, and some kind of jacket if needed.

Scars, Piercings, and Tattoos

Scars: Various small scars and burns scattered all around his body. The biggest one from before he figured out his whole fire thing. Got burned in a fire at a friends house. So now there's a massive burn going up his right leg and ending at the half way mark of his torso.

Piercings: He has pierced ears. Usually with small silver hoops in his ears. Bars going through the cartilage in both ears.

Tattoos: He doesn't have any cause you can't really steal a tattoo.

PERSONALITY

BACKGROUND

January 27th, 2002

Lao sat, perched on a tree across his house. A big redwood or something, he didn't know and didn't really care. He just needed to have a clear view of his house. Which was now engulfed in flames (blue ones to be more specific). The fire was his fault. But it was an accident, he swears. All he wanted to do was see how long it would take the big flowy curtains in the living room to burn. His mom called them "family heirlooms", but he just saw them as long pretty things. Things that had him curious as to what they'd look like covered in flames. How long they'd take to burn.Which is exactly what he set to find out. While his parents were gone (went out too talk to a neighbor), he took his chance. Shuffling out of his room, into the living room, and over to the curtains. He willed his fire to come out. Causing that nice buildup to happen. Starting in the pit of his stomach, traveling up his body and finally coming out of his hands in a bright blue color. He touched his beautiful blue flames to the curtains.
He watched what happened in wonder. Wonder that only grew as the fire continued to spread to all the surrounding surfaces. He stood there and watched until he couldn't watch anymore, and then he ran. Out of the house and over to the tree he was currently sitting in.
Watching as fire trucks and firefighters surrounded his house and put out the pretty flames he had made.

The kid wouldn't leave him alone.
It was one of those big burly kids who looks like an adult. Muscles upon muscles. Somehow already growing facial hair. Seemingly seven feet tall. Most kids were scared of him. Lao was just annoyed. But he was a tiny kid. A tiny kid with no muscle whatsoever. So he just took whatever this kid attempted to throw at him. From taking his lunch money to throwing him into lockers, to frequently throwing spitballs at him. He took it for a long ass time. But one day it was taken too far, and he snapped. This guy messed with his bag. Went into his personal belongings and the surrounding area, completely messing everything up. All his stuff splayed around. After making sure everything was there, verifying multiple times that all his stuff was there and in the condition it originally was, he got extremely pissed. So pissed in fact, that he ended up setting a fire right then and there. Making sure both the boy and his stuff, burned.

March 5th, 2010

"You have a problem" That's what everyone said to him. Or "Your son has a problem" to his parents. Doctors, psychiatrists, therapists, parents, other children, essentially everyone. They all said that same phrase over and over again. Warning his parents about how much of danger he was and would be to both himself and others. But Lao was a talented guy. A master of words. A genius in the art of manipulation. People only saw what he wanted them too. So all his parents saw was the perfect son who had a tendency to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
So he continued setting fire to things as he saw fit. Anything and everything that pissed him off, looked ugly, bothered him, did something wrong, essentially everything that he didn't like would go up in flames. People knew not to mess with him.
But one day he took things too far and set fire to the wrong place.
Owned by a guy who was worse than any person he'd ever met before. One who sought after him in order to get retribution for what he'd done. He kidnapped Lao and tortured him for months with absolutely no mercy. Completely breaking him down, and then building him back up as a truly cold and heartless boy whose every action was an effort to protect himself.
Even though he eventually escaped, managed to burn down the whole house and the man with it, he wasn't and probably would never be the same.

December 31st, 2017

For a long time, he disappeared. The trauma and reality of what had happened hit him full force, and he couldn't stand it. So he ran away to a massive forest and lived there for a couple months, but that was a bit too extreme. So he returned to civilization where he lived as another one of the homeless people out there.
He spent that time in his life as a shell of who he used to be. For the longest time, even fire couldn't bring him any joy.
Then one day a switch suddenly flipped in his mind.
On New Years, while he watched the world light up in brilliant rainbow colors, he felt alive again. Suddenly, he felt like he was wasting time. Sitting here and letting life get the best of him. So he got up from where he was and headed into the night. From that day on he was determined to get his life back together.

POWERS

Pyrokinesis // User can create, shape and manipulate fire, the rapid oxidation of a material in the exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light, and various reaction products, flame being the visible portion of the fire. Depending on the substances alight, and any impurities outside, the color of the flame and the fire's intensity will be different.

Blue Pyrokinesis // The user can create, shape and manipulate blue flames, which are far hotter and more intense than ordinary orange fire. The blue flames are of such color due to either the intense temperature or it possesses mystical properties.

Ultimate Burning // The user can burn anything, even if they are normally non-flammable, incorporeal or even conceptual entities, such as time. They can raise the temperature to absolute levels, generating scientifically unexplainable levels of particle energies; due to burning at such otherwise impossible levels, complete annihilation of object at subatomic levels occur.

Pyrokenetic Constructs // Users can turn the fire into tools, objects, weapons and other items, create semi-living constructs and/or create structures/buildings of varying permanence. Users who have mastered this ability can use it for almost any situation, creating anything they need.

Incineration // The user can utilize high temperatures to incinerate almost anything, reducing it to ashes. High-level users can control what part of the target they want to incinerate, and destroy the target so completely that absolutely no byproduct is left, not even ashes.

Fire Immunity // User is immune to fire/heat, being completely invulnerable to direct and indirect effects.

Pyroportation // The user can teleport via fire, merging into flame of any size and appearing anywhere else from the same element.

Fire Bullet Projection // User can create/generate and fire bullets of flame.
Burning Kiss // The user possesses a kiss that can be used to burn others on contact. This kiss can be used to harm others by burning them. The kiss can even incinerate others, which can make this power be potentially deadly.

Fire Mimicry // User is made up of or can transform their body completely into fire. Users' transformed form is either anatomically identical to their normal form, aside of being made of fire, in which case, it contains all to organs and is somewhat vulnerable to attacks. Alternately, the user can transform into homogenous matter, without any part of their form being more important than the other.

OTHER STUFF
Aquaphobia // An abnormal and persistent fear of water
